Hi friends and family!

Yes, I know I have been bad about updating this blog. Part of me blames it on my computer. (The other part is me, yes, I know it is hard to believe that!) The computer went and completely filled up on me. Yep, I can not load any more pictures, download music, or even jokes because the computer is completely full! I guess I take too many pictures. I am hoping to clean up the computer soon. For Christmas, Sam got me a 1 terabyte external hard drive. So I will be transferring all my pictures over to that...one of these days. And as soon as I do that I will be able to post pictures again!

Ok, now that I got that off my chest, it is time to update y'all on our family. Spring is our busy season! From February to June, it is CRAZY around here! The end of February brought us Grant's 5th birthday. He was so excited about turning five. He had a great, low key birthday. And got all kinds of new toys and money! It is so hard to believe that he is now 5 and will be starting kindergarten next year. In fact, Grant is all signed up and ready to start kindergarten in the fall. He can not wait to ride the bus and go to "the boys" (the twins) school. Too bad they will be going to Jr. High...ugh! Grant is taking the season off from sports. We were going to do swimming lessons during the spring but when I went to sign Regan and Grant up at noon on the day it opened, ALL the classes were full!

February also brought us Sam and mine's (is that right??) 11th Anniversary and 13 years that we have been together. It gets better and better every year. I am so grateful for all that Sam has brought to my life and I look forward to many many more years together!

March brought us something new to our lives. LACROSSE!! The twins have started playing it this year and LOVE it!!! It is a great combination of soccer, hockey, and kinda basketball. We are all enjoying learning about lacrosse. A couple of weeks ago we went to The Day of Rivals at Raven's Stadium. It was a long day, 3 full college games of lacrosse (two of them went into overtime), but a lot of fun. That helped us all learn more about lacrosse. The twins are picking up on the game really fast! Both are starting, Ethan is playing defense and Ian goes back and forth between defense and middie. I have really enjoyed watching them pick up a new sport, (that lets admit..not too many Texans know about)that they didn't know that much about. I look forward to watching them grow in this sport. I think they will be playing it for many more seasons!!! Grant has enjoyed it so much that he wants to play too. He has to wait until he is in kindergarten to play though. And Regan loves to pick up our fiddle sticks (smaller lacrosse sticks) and playing.

Next month is going to be a little crazy, it always is! There are birthdays galore in April in our family. My little sister's birthday is April 12, my "little sister" (my sister's best friend) Kari's is April 13, my cousin Lauren's is April 16, Regan's 3rd birthday is April 19, the twins' 11th birthday is April 23, my 31st birthday is April 27th and my cousin Michael's is April 29. So like I said....it will be a little crazy!!

Hope everyone has a great and blessed Easter. We start our Spring Break tomorrow too. Thursday I think we are heading to the indoor water "park" in Germantown. Friday we do not have anything planned. Saturday will be spent all day at the University of Maryland looking around the campus, tailgating and watching the Maryland vs Virginia lacrosse game. Sunday we are heading to Hershey, PA for the night. Not sure what all we will be doing there but I am sure Chocolate World is in our plans!! We will be back Monday night and Tuesday will be a relaxing day to get the kids ready for school on Wed. I promise pictures will follow soon!!! hopefully!! haha

Things have been a little hectic here lately. We have been busy busy busy with soccer. The twins are doing great this year. Ethan has really taken to being a goalie and is really enjoying it. Ian has been playing forward and mid back and they are both learning a lot. They will continue soccer into indoor soccer for the winter. Which is their FAVORITE! Grant also played soccer this year. It was his first season. It is so cute to watch those little ones out on the field. :) Regan isn't playing just yet but it didn't stop him from dressing in all his soccer stuff for Grant's games and practices. He had to have cleats and shin guards too. He will start playing next fall.

School is going great for everyone. Ethan and Ian are in Mrs. Clark's 5th grade class. Both were asked to be in the enrichment program. I am so proud of them! Their MSA scores and grades qualified them for the enrichment program. It has challenged them in good ways.

Grant is loving pre-K. He looks forward to going every Monday, Wednesday, Friday. He is starting to get excited about kindergarten and riding the bus to school! His speech is coming along and the speech teacher (he goes to the twins school twice a month for speech) is very pleased with his progress.

Regan is also going to "school." He goes on Mondays to Parents Time Out at the same place that Grant goes to preschool. He is still adjusting to being away from mom but has a good time once he warms up. Mrs. Judy says that he just likes to cuddle with her for about 5 minutes but then he ready to play. It has been nice for me to have a little break!!

Sam and I are doing great. Sam is getting ready for the craziness that is Christmas. And I plan on keeping busy through the winter painting the rest of the house that needs it (family room and all of upstairs.) That should keep me pretty busy. I just finished painting the playroom and Sam finished the dining room. I will post pictures soon. I am LOVING my dining room. Sam also finished the design I requested on back wall of the powder room!! It looks great too.

Sam and I have also been involved in stopping the redistricting of our neighborhood. It has been very time consuming. Sam has been trying to go to all the FEAC and school board meetings to show our disapproval of this move. Tonight we had a little victory, FEAC rejected the proposal for "G4." So now we have to see what the school board decides to do. We are keeping our fingers crossed that the school boards decides to redistrict another area and keep our town together.

This summer Peyton came to visit us. We enjoyed having him this summer and as always the trip was way too short!! Here are a couple of pictures from his visit. I will post more soon in a post dedicated to just Peyton's visit.

Now Christmas Eve might have been easy but mid-night Christmas was HARD! Sam and I went to bed at about 11:30 PM because we knew it was going to be an early morning...we had no idea how early it was going to be!!

At about 3:30 AM I hear Ethan whispering to Ian, "Hey, Ian, I think its time to go downstairs. Wake up, lets go." Sam and I both spring out of bed and stop them. Sam sets their clock so the know exactly what time it is. They go back to bed. We go back to bed...or atleast try to. I couldn't go back to sleep right away, finally I drifted off. And wake to "Ian, lets go downstairs." I look over at the clock it is now 5:30 AM (We told the boys that they couldn't go downstairs without us and they couldn't wake us up until 6:0o AM.) Again we jump out of bed and this time we let them come in our room and lay on the couch and watch tv. Again, we tried to go back to sleep, but that didn't happen. At about 6:15 AM (I can't remember if the twins woke up Grant or if he just woke up) Grant came in our room. And finally at 6:30 after much begging and pleading, we let them wake up Regan so we could all go down and open presents.

Waiting on Santa is soooo hard!! Especially with 4 boys! The twins announced to us on Christmas Eve that they were going to bed at 8:30 PM that way Santa would have plenty of time to get there. And let me tell you, they were ALL in bed by 8:30 PM! No complaints, no nothing! And they didn't play in bed, talk to each other, they actually went to sleep! WOW I wish Christmas Eve was every night in my house!!!

Every year, ok well for the past two years that we have lived here, Santa has come by on the fire truck. Grant asks me atleast once a week ,"When is Ho Ho coming on the fire truck." He's been asking since June! So he finally came. We had just gotten home from the grocery store and I thought we had missed him down our street. We watched him go down all the streets behind us and then he came down our street. YAY we didn't miss him! Poor Regan was sick (we had just found out he had pneumonia) but he was so excited Ho Ho was coming, so I tried to bundle him up as best I could and across the street we went. Oh and did I mention it was FREEZING outside! So cold that as soon as Santa passed our house, he jumped in the fire truck so he could warm up!!! And we ran in the house as fast as we could too. In case you didn't figure it out Ho Ho is what Grant has always called Santa and Regan has picked it up now and that is also what he calls Santa.

School Project

In school the twins have been studying about Maryland Indians. So their teacher decided that making them do a project would be good for them. She decided that a diorama would be a great project for 4th graders. So off to Wal-Mart we went to get all the stuff for Ethan and Ian's project. They wanted some play-do for the house they were building and of course we just need brown, black and green. Did they have those colors in individual packaging, of course not! So we had to buy the mini package that had 10 different colors in them and I had to buy two, one for each. Then it was on to the craft sticks, glue, and construction paper. Ethan and Ian worked really hard on their diorama. I do have to say that their projects turned out pretty good and Grant even joined in on the fun! They both got A's on the diorama. But I do have to say that I am glad that it over....for now... I am sure there are plenty more projects to come!

On Friday Grant and Regan disappeared from living room area. So I go upstairs and find them in the twins room. They both know that they are not supposed to be in there (there are too many little toys that Regan will put in his mouth). So there they are sitting in the floor with Ian's drum pad and sticks. I finally got them out of there but we had to bring the drum pad down so they could play me some music. It was very cute!! Here are some pictures on them making some music. (Ian was not too happy when he got home and his drum pad and sticks were in the living room). :)

Like I said before, Grant is just like his Momma! He taught himself something new. The other day I was in the hanging up the Christmas wreaths and Grant yelled, "Hey Ma, look." So I look over at him and this is what I saw.

Yes, you are seeing that right, he taught himself how to do a handstand. I was so proud of him! Sure he has seen his Momma do handstand ALOT. And he has been doing "donkey kicks" for a long time. But he has never done a handstand by himself on the wall and I have never done a handstand on the wall like that. I guess I need to look into putting him in gymnastics. I have been meaning to find a gym for him for a year now but we have just been so busy. I think he would really enjoy it. Especially since he LOVES to do flips off the couch and ottoman, does forward rolls all the time, and now likes to do handstands on my walls. Regan has let us know that he LOVES coffee. He loves it hot, cold, frozen, however he can get his hands on it. I even caught him drinking it from a cup at our friends house that she left on the side table when she went to the kitchen to get something. I bought a frappuccino one day while we were in the bookstore and he screamed, I mean really screamed until I gave it to him. He drank the whole thing. Every time I tried to take a drink he screamed again. He is just a JAVA JUNKIE! And of course since Regan was drinking coffee, Grant saw that I had the camera out and had to do what Regan was doing so I would take his picture. I tell you, Grant is a little ham!! Enjoy!

Thanksgiving

I hope y'all had a wonderful Thanksgiving this year. We had a great day! It was just Sam and me and the boys. A nice quite family dinner. Grant was feeling better and loved the "gobble gobble" as he called the turkey. Regan and Ethan and Ian also enjoyed all the food and family time. The twins loved their Chocolate pie that I made, it is Nonna's recipe that I have finally started making right.

My mom's chocolate pie is one of my FAVORITE deserts of all time. When I was still living at home mom taught me how to make it, I would have to say, I did a pretty good job on it. Then once I moved out and started living on my own, I always made it atleast once a year but something just seemed off. I think every time I made it, I would say something to Sam like, "Wow, it really is sweet. I really don't remember it being this sweet." So almost two years ago when my mom came up for Regan's birth, she asked me what I wanted for my birthday cake. I said chocolate pie. And she asked if I had the recipe handy and of course I did. She started reading it and all of sudden goes, "No, Kayce it doesn't have sweetened milk in it. It is supposed to be PET milk." So for over 10 years I had been making it with sweetened milk instead of evaporated milk. So in the Thanksgiving spirit, I am very thankful that my mom came up for a visit and finally figured out what was wrong with my chocolate pie! It taste so much better! And I think this year's chocolate pie was the best yet!!

Sorry there are no pictures this update! It has been a little crazy around here. Grant has been sick since Friday, the whole nine yards. So sorry if I haven't been able to return phone calls or answer emails as quickly as I normally do, I have been cleaning up puke! I thought he was going to be able to go to school today but he didn't. Yesterday he was doing so good. I was able to get a little food down him and some water and gatorade. All was fine until I left for the gym just before he went to bed. He did it again, this time Sam had to clean it up! So I kept him home from school today and so far he has been good. I am keeping my fingers, toes, everything crossed.

Tonight the twins have an indoor soccer game. Keep everything crossed for them too! The last two teams we have played have been select club teams. Our team is kids thrown together from two different soccer clubs, all but a few have never played together before. Tonight is a new team that I am not familiar with, so hopefully they are a team more on our level. It hasn't really bothered the twins not winning but I think it is starting to get to some of our players. On one positive note, Ethan has become a good little goalie. And hopefully playing indoor soccer will help even more. I really don't like my kids playing that position but it is something he really enjoys so I guess I have no say in it really. As long as he likes it and tries his hardest, I am a proud Momma! Ian is also improving. He likes to be goalie but not as much as Ethan. He mostly plays forward. I think half back is more his speed though. I guess time will tell. They both seem to really enjoy soccer. I am happy with that! They are on the same team, same practice time, same game time which equals less running time for me!!

Regan is doing great too. He is trying to talk a little more and climbing a lot more. He is a sneaky little fellow! The other day someone left one of the stools in the kitchen and Regan decided to climb not only on the stool but up on the stove. I look over and there he his dancing up on the stove. :) He LOVES to dance. I have been trying to get a video of him dancing but it seems that every time I try he doesn't want to or when he is dancing I don't have my camera.

Lastly, I just wanted to wish you and your family a blessed Thanksgiving. Y'all will all be in our thoughts and prayers. And I can't go with out saying, GIG'EM AGGIES. I know it is a long shot but a true Aggie has to believe!!!! BTHO t.u.

This past Friday, November 14th, the Boonsboro Boys Soccer Team was in the state finals. I thought the twins would learn a little bit and enjoy watching the varsity team play soccer. So as soon as the kids got off the bus we went to our neighbors house to pick them up and then went on to Baltimore to watch the game. All the boys enjoyed the game even though it misted through the whole game. Boonsboro lost 3-1 but came in 2 in the state! I think that is a great thing for our soccer community. November 8 the twins had their final soccer game(s) for the fall season. They were in Fall Frederick Tournament. Although the tournament didn't go our way, the boys played great! And Grant and Regan did great through the 3 games and 5 1/2 hours we were there! Ian is #14 and Ethan is #15.

Our Weekends

Here is a peek into what are weekends are all about. It is filled with soccer. I have taken pictures at two of Ethan and Ian's games. One was at the beginning of the season, Sept. 19, and the others were taken last weekend, Nov. 1st. Ethan is number 15 and Ian is 14. In the first game, Ian was goalie for most of the game, so he is in the red pennie. The 2nd game is Ethan doing a throw in. After the Nov. 1st game we had our team party so the rest are the pictures from that. We hiked up to the 1st Washington Monument on the Appalachian Trail and had a pizza party. The kids had a great time!!

Halloween Part 2

Our town(s) (Sharpsburg, Keedysville, & Boonsboro, they are kinda like Salado, Holland, and Bartlett to each other for those reading in Texas) decided to do Halloween and trick or treating on Thursday so Boonsboro wouldn't be too crowded for the "big" football game on Friday. You see we are UNDEFEATED this year and I guess they didn't want any conflicts and wanted more people in the stands to cheer on the Warriors. So we smiled and tick or treated on Thursday. The boys all decided to go as Star Wars people. Ethan was Commander Cody, Ian was Boba Fett, Grant was a Clone Trooper, and Regan was Yoda. They looked so cute out there. We did have one little mishap: Grant had followed the boys up to a door and then came back to us. The next thing I hear is Ethan saying, "Grant come on. Grant get off the grass. Come on Grant, lets go to the next house." I kinda hear this in the background of all the talking amongst the parents. I look at Ethan and ask him who he is talking to and he says Grant. I said Grant is right here Ethan. He replies, "No he isn't he is right here." About that time Grant took off his mask and sure enough, he was right next to me and Ethan was talking to another "Clone Trooper." Poor kid!!! Regan lasted 2 1/2 streets, I thought that was pretty good for him. The other three lasted the whole subdivison, 2 hours worth of trick or treating!! To say the least, we have plenty of candy now!

So after the big boy haircut I decided to take Regan to the pumpkin patch to get some pictures of him since we didn't make it to the patch as a family. It was a pretty nice day out and almost all the mud was dried up. Regan had a good time looking at all the pumpkins, playing on the play bus thingy, and looking at all the animals. What he didn't like was his picture being taken. He was not too keen on looking at me while I was taking his picture. I have a lot of pictures of the back of his head!

Regan has had his hair cut before but they had all been just trims. This was not just a trim this time, this is a BIG BOY HAIRCUT! I loved his little curls and debated for a long time about cutting off his curls but they were just getting a little out of control! So off we went to get it cut. After dropping Grant off at preschool for his Fall Festival party Regan and I went to the mall to cut his hair. I think it looks so much better! But both Ethan and Ian were a little upset. They both said "But what about his curls, they were so cute." I think they are getting used to it now. Isn't he a handsome little thing!?!?!

Grant had his preschool Fall Festival today. We had a little bit of a rough morning. It began with me having to wake Grant up which is never a good sign of what is to come. He had a little bit of breakfast and then it was time to get in his costume. Yeah, we had a little bit of a struggle with that one. He went back and forth on wearing it to school or not. Finally he said he wanted it on, YAY! So I took some pictures at home and then it was off to preschool. As soon as we get to school he starts pulling off his costume. I convince him to keep it on and we walk in. As soon as we walk through the door to the school, the costume starts coming off. I give up and he completely takes it off. I let the teacher know that if he wants it back on, I left it on the table. I wait outside for the Costume Parade and what do you know Grant walks out with his costume ON. I swear that kid gives me a run for my money! Mrs. B said as soon as I walked out the door she asked him if he wanted to wear his costume and she said he smiled at her a big smile and said YES! What a little turkey!!!!

So last week I dropped Regan off at our good friends house and Grant and I headed to preschool for a Grant and Mom adventure. We were off to Jumbo's Pumpkin Patch with about 20 other mom's and preschoolers. We had a really good time! While we were there we looked at all the different kinds of pumpkins that they grow, it is amazing how different kinds of pumpkins they can grow! We took a hay ride out to the Corn Maze. Grant and his friend Ryan led the way through the maze. They really enjoyed seeing all the corn and running through the maze! Next it was off to the pumpkin patch to pick out of pumpkin. Of course we had to go to the very back of the patch to find just the right one. Grant was really interested in the one pumpkin that was spewed all over the ground. He stood at it for a few minutes and then told me, "Mom, ewwww, mom, ewww." Then was off again. We took the hay ride back to the front of the farm so we could see all the baby animals that they had. Grant loves animals and loved being able to feed them. His favorite was Batman and Robin, the baby calves. Next was a quick snack and then back to running around and jumping off the hay stacks. Grant said he had a really good time and so did I! It was a nice Mom and Grant morning!

Alright, so I have decided to start a blog so friends and family can keep up with me, one out numbered momma!!!

Just to catch you up. I'm Kayce. I was born and raised in the FABULOUS state of Texas, Belton, Texas. I am a PROUD Texan and just about everyone that knows me knows this!! I am married to a great man, Sam. We have been together for almost 12 years and I have been his fabulous, moody, loving wife for almost 10 years now. We have had our ups and downs and we always pull through. We are a great team!! Sam was born in Knoxville, raised in Virginia for 10 years then moved to Florida. We met in Temple, Texas where we were both working. We decided to take our life journey together and so far we have lived in 6 states and have logged many miles together.

We started in Temple, Texas then moved to Dothan, Alabama for 1 year to the day. That was not the best place for us, well me, but one very dear friend came from there! From there it was on to Memphis, Tennessee. We were there for 4 years. A lot of great friends and memories keep us visiting Memphis! Sam and I were married there and had two of our kids there. From Memphis it was on to Lexington, Kentucky. We loved Lexington and were there for 2 years. I think it is the prettiest place we have lived so far. From Lexington we moved to Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. We were in Pittsburgh, well Oakdale for 3 years. We bought our 1st house and had two more kids here. This is where we put the most roots down and I think was the hardest to move from so far! We are now in Keedysville, Maryland and have been for a year now, well technically tomorrow is our official 1 year anniversary. That has caught you up on the place we have lived for now.

Now on to why I am one out numbered momma! Not only is there my husband Sam in the house, we also have Peyton, Ethan, Ian, Grant, and Regan. Yes, you read that right, we have 5 boys together! Peyton, 13, is Sam's son from before there was a Sam and Kayce. Peyton lives in Alabama with his mom. He is very active in football and baseball and art. Then we had Ethan and Ian, twins, that are 9. They were born in Memphis and have been along for our adventures ever since. Right now they are into soccer, soccer, and more soccer! They play both indoor and outdoor soccer. Ethan is playing the saxophone and Ian is playing percussion. We welcomed another son in 2005 when we were in Pittsburgh. Grant is now 3 and there is never a dull moment when he is around! He LOVES animals and kicking the soccer ball around too. I think is favorite thing to do though is flips. Yes, he is definitely his momma's son! And last but not least is Regan (pronounced REEGAN, not Reagan). He is 1 years old and makes sure he is not left out of anything! He is learning from everyone! Some of his favorite things are eating, especially if it is off someone else's plate, jumping from everything and of course learning to kick a soccer ball. Yes, we are a soccer family! So that catches you up on the kids.

So that about catches you up on us! Hopefully I will be good about adding what's going on with us and everyone will be able to see lots of pictures of our hectic but FUN lives!!
